Our Church
For over sixty years, the people of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church have been gathering in God's house, enjoying time with fellow members of God's family, and going about the Lord's work.

It all began in 1951, when another local church decided to leave the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. A number of families refused to go along with this move, desiring to remain in the church body they knew to be faithful to God's Word. Though it cost them in many ways, they split from that congregation and formed a new church. They worshiped in homes and rented spaces until our present sanctuary was built in 1952. Over the next two decades, they added educational space in stages.

From the beginning, Christian education was important to Bethel. From 1952 until 2004, Bethel operated its own elementary school. For the last nine years, we have benefited greatly from a cooperative effort with two other area congregations that has produced Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School.

We are presently a congregation of just under 400 souls--big enough to offer plenty of programs and services for our members and our community, yet small enough to keep a family atmosphere. This is reflected in our mission statement:

Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church is a family of believers standing together on God’s Truth, growing together through God’s Word and Sacraments, and working together to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our congregation, our community, and our world.

We would love to meet your family--and we would love for your family to become a part of ours!
God's house. God's family. God's work.
